This year our Summer Reading Program theme is 'Build a Better World' for ages one to 14 
June 21 -  August 18. 
  





Sign up in the Children's Room for our Summer Reading Program. Read (or read to your young ones) at your own pace and get prizes all summer long. 

Here is our schedule for Summer Story Times and Programs for Families. Please keep an eye on this page for updates and also refer to the calendar on the library website. 


Teen volunteers are needed this summer to help with the Summer Reading Program. Please contact the Children's Librarian, Laura Fuhro.

Author Storytime
Tuesday, July 11
Eric Estevez will read his book According to Chacho at storytime. Ages 2-5.

Mad Science
Tuesdays, July 25, August 1
Program and play with Dot and Dash Robots. Coding, games, problem solving for grades K-5. 

Science Tellers: Tall Ships and Pirate Tales
Tuesday, August 8
For ages 5-12. The audience participates in high adventure with cloud science, flash paper, air pressure, inertia, explosions and more.

Youth Stages
"Big Old Bones"
Wednesday, August 9
Study prehistoric times from an 1800s perspective, based on Carol Carrick's book, Big Old Bones. Come be Professor Potts' assistants as we piece together dinosaur bones and history! Ages 4-6.
 
Scratch Coding Workshops
Monday, August 14
Lisa Genua will instruct ages 5-11. Please sign up at the children's desk.

Youth Stages "The Knight and the Dragon"
Wednesday, August 16

Children dutifully polish swords and make scary faces as they “prepare for battle” in Tomie dePaola’s book The Knight and the Dragon…then settle the “battle” by reading books! Ages 3-7.
  

LEGOS: Build a better world with Legos

Meet Raphael

Children will have an opportunity to view a miniature horse up close and learn how therapy horses help children and adults with special needs.  Raphael is owned by Maureen Coultas, executive director of Hope's Promise. Ages 3 and up.
