Online resources for children & students

Berkeley Heights Public Library continues to provide service during this time when we are closed. There are many online services for children that can be accessed through the library's website www.bhplnj.org . Under ONLINE 24/7 LIBRARY select Children's (on the mobile website, select All Things E and scroll down to the Children's section). Additional educational resources can be found under Children's and Student Databases . Many resources require your BHPL library card number and some also require a PIN # (usually the last 4 digits of your phone #).

Some of BHPL's online resources/databases include:

ebooks/e-audiobooks
TumbleBooks - animated children's storybooks, read-along readers & chapter books for preschool-grade 6
TeenBookCloud - ebooks for grades 7-12
AudioBookCloud - streaming audiobooks for all ages; select the Children, Classics or YA (Teens) tab
BookFLIX - animated videos of children's books and read-alongs
Hoopla - includes children's ebooks, comics, audiobooks; go to settings and turn on Kids Mode
eLibraryNJ (Libby/Overdrive app) - ebooks, audiobooks for children, teens and adults; can limit to Kids or Teens collections by going to Preferences and selecting 'Audience' and then 'Juvenile' (Kids) or 'Young Adult' (Teens)

Movies/Videos/TV/Music
Hoopla - movies, tv, music - go to settings and turn on Kids Mode
Kanopy - children's movies, tv series, educational videos - for Kanopy Kids, go to settings and turn on Parental Controls

Online language learning
Pronunciator & Rosetta Stone - both are listed under Children's and Student Databases .

Test Prep Resources for High School Students - pdf's of AP, ACT and SAT study guides; no library card needed, scroll down to High School and then EBSCO Learning Express (available through 6/30/20)

Storyline Online - videos featuring celebrated actors reading children's books (activity guides for teachers are included for each book)
Story Time From Space - videos of astronauts reading science related children's books
Goodnight with Dolly  -  10 week video series of Dolly Parton  reading aloud children's books
BigTimberMedia - free access to children's ebooks grouped by school grades through 6/30/20
AbdoZoom - free access to their online research databases for beginning readers through 6/30/20
